The "Season"
The social season in Palm Beach and Boca Raton is over for the summer. For the first couple months of the year, I was entrenched in our annual fundraising galas -- planning, executing, and post-event paperwork. In the midst of that, our other event coordinator quit and I had to take over the event she was planning -- a 3-mile walkathon. That event went well and it was fun, but boy am I glad it's over :) Now, I'm working on an event in New York City in June, one in Rockford, IL in August, our annual gala in Boca in February, and an event in Atlanta in May. Plus, I'm developing a business plan for doing eBay auctions. It's a great place to fundraise for charities, but I have to convince the president of Food For The Poor that it will work for us. And on top of everything else, my boss has been on jury duty for over a month and I've been doing her job.
We did hire another coordinator -- yea! She's really great and I love working with her. Her name is Rachel. Not only do we get along great, but we've joined LA Fitness with another co-worker, Gigi. It is so helpful to have motivation and support in getting to the gym 3-4 times each week. I feel great -- still haven't lost the weight that I want to, but I know it is good for my heart, that I'm building muscle, and that eventually I'll be in the shape I want to be. Plus, it's fun. I go to a class called Latin Impact every Thursday. Wow, can that girl move her hips and her butt in ways that I never thought possible ;)
I hope to be back to blogging regularly now. I've missed everyone!!!
